Several Indiana politicians and business leaders gathered for a forum on national security and economic prosperity in Indianapolis Monday.
The discussion, hosted by the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition, focused on American leadership abroad and how it can shape the U.S. economy.
Republican U.S. Senator Todd Young says Hoosiers contact him because they’re worried about jobs and wages, but also potential conflicts with countries like North Korea.
Young attended the funeral of fallen Columbus soldier Jonathon Michael Hunter this past weekend and says ensuring the safety of those in the military is a top priority for the government.
“In order to avoid that it takes a partnership between the private sector, our not for profits and our federal government,” Young says.
The panel also discussed possible cuts the State Department faces.
