Fire damaged a building on the courthouse square of a southern Indiana city.
Scottsburg Fire Chief James Richey says the blaze apparently started from an explosion in the building overnight.
“It was apparent there was some time of explosion,” he says. “The face of the building was laying out on the sidewalk. that time there was heavy black smoke coming from the front of the building.”
The building contained two businesses and an apartment. No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation.
