Bloomingfoods closed its Elm Heights location in May 2016.

The owner of Bloomington’s Pictura Gallery says he plans to turn the former Bloomingfoods store in Elm Heights into a “future Bloomington destination.”

David Moore formed High & Fine LLC in March and closed on the purchase of the store Monday. He says in a statement the building will be compatible with the neighborhood, “whether that is through food, cocktails, conversation or other combinations.”

Bloomingfoods General Manager Tony Alongi says the sale of the building is good news for the co-op, which closed the Elm Heights store last year as part of a larger restructuring plan.

“We are happy to have the sale completed and to have closed that chapter of Bloomingfoods history,” he said in a statement.

Switchyard Brewing Company had plans to lease the space, but its intent to lease the property expired in February and the principles chose not to extend the agreement.
