The Rose-Hulman Institute community begins the process of moving forward in the wake of the death of President Matt Branam. Interim President Rob Coons says the real challenge is dealing with the emotional aspects of losing Branam and trying to move the community forward.
Coons says Branam had many activities ongoing around campus.
“The most significant of which I think was the great debate, our strategic planning process,” Coons says “He was very focused on moving that ahead for the campus, so I think the sooner we can return to focusing on those issues as well as preparing for our next commencement here in about 30 days, those are the first orders of business.”
A celebration of Branam‘s life was held Saturday. Coons says he has not yet thought about possibly throwing his name into the ring for the permanent position.
