County Clerk Linda Robbins says Nichole Browne was previously working in the Sherriff's office.
Monroe County Clerk Linda Robbins has appointed a new Deputy Clerk. Nichole Browne will replace Mike Szakaly, who is leaving for a job with Indiana University.
According to Robbins, Browne has been working within the Monroe County Justice system for many years.
“I’ve found her to be extremely knowledgeable, personable, and very good with human interactions.”
But when pressed about Browne’s qualifications for the job however, Robbins was unable to recall any specific position Browne has held in the county.
“I’m not sure what they were,” she says. “Since I’ve known her, she’s been working with the Sherriff’s department, but I’m not sure of her role there either.”
According to Robbins, the Deputy Clerk supervises all aspects of the Clerk’s office with the exception of elections.
