Purdue wants to enroll an additional 700 undergraduate students and 800 graduate students.
Purdue’s College of Engineering is plotting its future growth, which includes more students, faculty and staff.
The five year strategy calls for hiring 107 faculty members, boosting undergraduate enrollment by nearly 700 students, and adding up to 800 graduate students.
Dean Leah Jamieson says the plan follows the student growth trend, but really addresses the need for more professors. She says the cost of hiring and space needs will be funded with some existing funds and a five-year, $135 million fundraising effort
Jamieson says a goal of bringing in more faculty members is to increase diversity, so that will attract a more diverse group of students
