A 6-million dollar project to keep the Terre Haute International Airport from collapsing is underway. The Indiana Department of Resources started the project that will support the main runway, terminal and radar site that were built on top of abandoned coal mines. Crews will construct more than a thousand supports in the mine caverns to prevent the airport from caving in.
