U.S. Postal Service officials are seeking public comment about a proposal to move mail processing operations from Bloomington to Indianapolis.
A recent study shows whether consolidating operations would help save the postal service money due to the deep decline in mail volume and the increased use of electronic mail.
U.S. Postal Service Spokeswoman Mary Dando says she isn’t sure what it will take to stop the move.
“The proposal is to move the mail processing from Bloomington to Indianapolis. No decision has been made, but part of that final review will be the input from the public.”
Postal Service managers will present the results of the study tonight from 7 to 9 PM at the Monroe County Convention Center.
