The Indiana State Excise Police partnered with other departments to increase patrols in Bloomington.

Police issued a record number of tickets during this year‘s Little 500 in Bloomington.

Indiana State Excise Police Cpl. Travis Thickstun said the agency issued 258 tickets, up from 167 last year, during the celebration surrounding the annual bicycle race. Excise police were out in force, in uniform and undercover, to crack down on underage drinking as part of a new initiative launched in February.
