Edinburgh Police broke up an alleged counterfeit clothing operation Sunday afternoon. Chief David Mann says police responded to an area motel where they located people selling clothing out of a box truck.
Mann says the truck was filled with clothing that was made to look like genuine North Face brand apparel. He says his department was alerted to the sale by security members of the North Face corporate office.
“After conferring with the North Face security personnel, the truck, it‘s equipment, and all of the clothing were seized,” Mann says. “A report has been forwarded to the Bartholomew County Prosecutor‘s Office for his review and determination of future actions.“
He says the company found out about the operation by a witness of a sale. Mann added that they talked with several people at the scene, but did not arrest them. He says the people involved seemed to be Indiana residents.
