Hundreds of people braved the cold to take a dip into the lake to ring in the new year.
More than 200 revelers took to the icy waters of Monroe Lake Tuesday to ring in the new year. Proceeds from the annual polar bear plunge, which is in its ninth year, went to the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN). Last year more than $550 was raised from the event. This year’s plunge was themed vikings.
