Governor Mitch Daniels and Columbus Mayor Fred Armstrong joined PMG Indiana officials Thursday in announcing that the auto parts manufacturer will be consolidating all of its Midwestern operations to Columbus. PMG estimates the move will bring more than 70 new jobs to the area.
Company officials say they will spend $11.4 million to move their Dayton, Ohio production facilities and research and development center to Columbus. Mayor Armstrong says PMG provides an example of how an international company can help the area prosper.
While Governor Daniels was in Columbus he also attended a meeting of the statewide Economic Development Corporation at Cummins’ international headquarters. Armstrong says the governor discussed his recent trips to Asia and the implications they may have for southern Indiana.
