Planned Parenthood of Indiana has fired an employee who was caught on tape appearing to show a 13-year old girl how to circumvent state abortion law. The employee is identified only as “Diana” on the tape, which was actually made by a college junior working for a pro-life organization seeking to expose poor treatment of teens by Planned Parenthood offices around the country. The tape shows “Diana” telling the apparently pregnant teen — who claims on the tape she’s had sex with her 31-year old boyfriend — that she’ll pretend she doesn’t know the girl’s age, because then she has to report the case to Indiana’s Child and Family Services office. That same office, when informed of the incident, declined to file criminal charges against Planned Parenthood, because the woman who made the tape is neither a teenager nor pregnant and therefore no laws were broken. The tape later shows Diana showing the patient how she can go to Illinois to have an abortion — a state which does not share an Indiana law requiring parental permission for any abortion performed on a woman younger than age 14. Planned Parenthood of Indiana officials released a statement saying only that the employee had been fired and declined additional comment.
