To commemorate the anniversary of 9/11, the Indianapolis International Airport will display a piece of steel recovered from Ground Zero.

A section of the World Trade Center steel recovered from Ground Zero will be on display in Civic Plaza at the Indianapolis International Airport. The artifact was presented to the airport fire department by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to honor local public safety responders, including some airport employees, who deployed to the World Trade Center site in 2001. It will return to its permanent site at the airport‘s Fire Station 1 at the end of the day.
