Pence Addresses Russian Conflict During Reception In Berlin

Governor Mike Pence took time out of his trade mission in Germany to address what he calls Russian aggression against the Ukraine and Europe.

In an address to a “Friends of Indiana” reception in Berlin featuring German business and government leaders, Governor Mike Pence said the United States’ policy in recent years of what he calls “conciliatory diplomacy” towards Russia have failed.

Pence says he addressed the issue because, on his trade mission, discussion of Russia’s actions is everywhere.

“Given the economic ties and obviously all the NATO nations’ proximity to Russia, what’s happening in Ukraine is a focal point and we literally had conversations with people about it from the first day we arrived,” he says.

Pence says the United States must rededicate itself to bolstering the North Atlantic Treaty Organization members to protect not just European interests, but those of America.

“Strengthening the strategic relationship between the United States and NATO and enhancing the defenses of NATO, which is a defense alliance, is absolutely in the interest of economic stability and economic growth,” he says.

Pence says enhancing NATO defenses should include deploying a missile defense system in Europe, particularly in Poland and the Czech Republic.

Pence is obviously willing to start another war which would likely have nuclear consequences for Europe if not the U.S. and commit thousands of war-weary Hoosiers to yet another bloodly conflict. I would hardly call Obama’s and Clinton’s and Kerry’s policy conciliatory. They haven’t turned the sanctions up to full volume yet and that means freezing the deal Putin made with Exxon/Mobil which is the largest deal -ever- in the history of the world. Freezing that deal would be our “nuclear option” because Putin is basing the next 20 years of Russia’s economy on it. He signed the deal with E/M in his -private- home in the country near Sochi. But of course U.S. state-level representatives like Pence don’t have a clue what is possible as far as sanctions go because they think the whole world ends at the state borders.
