With the Patoka Lake Reservoir overflowing, a plan to release more waters than normal could raise the river in Jasper another two feet. Dubois County EMA Director Tamara Miller says the area is flooded now.
“The city of Jasper is being affected and they are actually working directly with businesses and individuals that are within the range that could flood, getting them loaded sandbags and taking them and delivering them to ‘em,” said Miller.
Another heavy rain is expected in the area on Wednesday. Miller says evacuations shouldn’t be needed.
