Parker, Osili Subpoenaed In Charlie White Eligibility Case

The Indiana Recount Commission Tuesday voted to issue subpoenas for Indiana Democratic Party Chair Dan Parker and Democratic Secretary of State candidate Vop Osili. Meeting a week before the commission’s hearing on embattled Secretary of State Charlie White’s eligibility for office to finalize details for that hearing, the Recount Commission, in a two-to-one vote, ordered subpoenas issued to Parker and Osili, compelling them to appear before the commission and submit any documents related to what, if anything, they knew about White’s eligibility issues prior to August 20^th, 2010, the deadline for candidacy challenges prior to the election.

Recount Commission chair Tom Wheeler cautioned the attorneys for both White and the Democratic Party that questions to Parker and Osili will be limited solely to the issue of what they might have known about White’s eligibility prior to the August 20^th date.  The White hearing will take place June 21^st.
