Opponents of a proposed coal-gasification plant in Edwardsport are putting together a suit to block the plant’s construction.

While the Governor-appointed Indiana Utility Regulator Commission approved the plant last month, Duke Energy must now seek approval of an air quality panel in the Department of Environmental Management. Menzer says they’ll ask a judge to overturn the approval of the Office of Utility Consumer Counselor. Again, he characterizes that effort as a long shot.
