President Barack Obama and Vice-President Biden are visiting Kokomo Tuesday.
The White House is confirming President Barack Obama and Vice-President Joe Biden will visit Kokomo next week. The visit is part of the White House to Main Street Tour. Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight says the visit has been in the works for about three weeks. Goodnight says he was first contacted by the Vice-President’s office shortly after cnnmoney.com ran a story about the town’s economic turnaround.
“And I got a call from the Vice-President’s office wanting to ask some questions,” Goodnight said. “We were in communication with them for about four or five days, and then the day before I left for China with the governor’s delegation they informed us that the Vice-President was coming.”
President Obama was then added to the docket a few days later. Mr. Obama and Vice-President Biden will visit Kokomo Tuesday. Details concerning the time and location of the appearance have not been released. It’s also unclear whether the event will be open to the public.
