NSA Crane Expo Displays Green Technology

NSA Crane has produced several technologies such as solar panels and electric vehicles.

At an energy expo Wednesday, Crane showed off some of the energy saving technology it has developed. The exposition was a way to celebrate Earth Week. And Commanding Officer James Michael Stewart says some of the devices are not just for the naval center.

“They’ve developed some solar panels that they can use out in the field by troops,” he says. “That same application can go out into the civilian world for campers or people in emergency situations.”

Other technologies on display included an electric vehicle and a new groundwater testing system that is used to check the water quality on the base.
