For the Indiana Pacers, the announcement means five preseason games, including one home game, are now gone.
The NBA announced yesterday that the entire 114-game preseason schedule has been cancelled due to the lack of a new collective bargaining agreement. League owners and the players association met for four hours on Tuesday but came no closer to an agreement.
NBA Commissioner David Stern says the first two weeks of the regular season will be canceled if no agreement is reached by Monday. The players have been locked out since the old collective bargaining agreement expired on July. 1.
For the Indiana Pacers, the announcement means five preseason games, including one home game, are now gone. If the first two weeks of the regular season are canceled, the Pacers will miss seven games, including three home games.
The regular season is scheduled to start on Nov. 1. The Pacers‘ season opener is set for Nov. 2 in Detroit against the Pistons.
