National Night Out Events Scheduled For Several Area Towns

The event brings families, local law enforcement, and community groups together to fight crime and drug prevention.

The event is a chance for people to become more familiar with local law enforcement.

This evening is ‘National Night Out’, an event coordinated by the National Association of Town Watch.

In Bloomington, the Housing Authority is hosting the event at their offices in the Crestmont Neighborhood. The event brings families, local law enforcement, and community groups together to fight crime and raise drug prevention awareness.

The Bloomington event runs this evening from 5 to 7 PM, and will feature live music and free food.

Other participating cities include Columbus, Terre Haute, Greenwood, Franklin, Kokomo, and Martinsville.

In Kokomo, residents are encouraged to spend time outside with their neighbors from 7 to 10 PM this evening, with earlier events taking place in Crime Watch Neighborhoods.

Terrace Towers @ 605 S. Bell Street 4:00-6:00 p.m.

Stoney Creek Mobile Home Community @ 1500 W. Markland 3:00-6:00 p.m.

Meadowlawn Apts. @ 1930 S. Goyer Road 4:00-6:00 p.m.

Bon Air Neighborhood Crime Watch @ Bon Air Park, 2500 N. Purdum Street 6:00-7:30 p.m.

Dunbar Court @ 801 N. Jay 4:00-6:00 p.m.

Forest Drive Neighborhood @ 907 N. Forest Drive – To be Announced

Trinity Neighborhood Crime Watch,@1128 S. Purdum Street – 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.
