The event is a chance for people to become more familiar with local law enforcement.
This evening is ‘National Night Out’, an event coordinated by the National Association of Town Watch.
In Bloomington, the Housing Authority is hosting the event at their offices in the Crestmont Neighborhood. The event brings families, local law enforcement, and community groups together to fight crime and raise drug prevention awareness.
The Bloomington event runs this evening from 5 to 7 PM, and will feature live music and free food.
Other participating cities include Columbus, Terre Haute, Greenwood, Franklin, Kokomo, and Martinsville.
In Kokomo, residents are encouraged to spend time outside with their neighbors from 7 to 10 PM this evening, with earlier events taking place in Crime Watch Neighborhoods.
