Movie Gallery Robbery May Be Linked To Other Crimes

A robbery Sunday night at a south-side video store may have been committed by the same person suspected in two convenience store robberies last week.

Bloomington police say a robbery Sunday night at a south-side video store may have been committed by the same person suspected in two convenience store robberies last week. Captain Joe Qualters says a woman in her mid to late 30s entered the Movie Gallery at the corner of Grimes and Walnut, and waited for other patrons to leave. She then asked to speak to the manager, and indicated she had a gun.

Qualters says the woman, described as white, 5’3″, with black and red hair, weighing roughly 160 pounds, fits the description of a woman suspected in robberies at Marathon and Village Pantry outlets on Bloomington’s west side last week. Qualters says a witness to Sunday’s robbery indicates the woman also has a scar running from the shoulder to the elbow of her right arm. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bloomington Police Department.
