The caucus will meet in the City Hall Council Chambers.

The Monroe County Democratic caucus will meet this Sunday to choose a new county councilor. District four councilman Sam Allison resigned last month after his wife took a job out of state.

According to Caucus Chair Hans Huffman, precinct chairs from district four will vote on who takes Allison’s seat.

“Only those chairs or their designated proxies are allowed to vote, and a majority wins,” he says.

The caucus will meet at 3 p.m. Sunday. While the meeting is not open to the public, all Monroe County Democrats are invited to attend the vote. The deadline to submit consideration for the seat was 3 p.m. this afternoon.
