A stage collapsed at the Indiana State Fair Saturday prior to a performance by the country music duo Sugarland.

Monday is the last day to file for charitable funds from the state fair relief fund. Claim forms can be found online or by calling 1-855-222-0003. The State Fair Relief Fund was established by donations to the remembrance fund. State Fair Commission representative Stephanie McFarland says more than $978,000 has been contributed to the fund, and some of that has already been distributed.

“We have had 26 claims paid out to date,”McFarland says. “We‘ve had 45 who have filed, and so there is still a little greater than $400,000 that‘s in there, and if someone is eligible for those funds, and they do qualify according to the protocol, we most certainly want them to submit a claim.”

Seven of the paid claims were from estates of deceased victims, and the remainder represent victims who were admitted to the hospital for at least one day and night. Payments are being distributed to claimants well within 48 hours of being completely processed. Victims who also lost personal items as a result of the collapse can contact the Indiana State Fair directly.
