Kendallville native and former Indiana Congressman David McIntosh has been chosen to be Republican Fred Thompson’s chief domestic policy adviser should Thompson run for president. Thompson will make a decision on running sometime around the July 4 holiday, if not before. McIntosh says Thompson has all the best qualities of a past president.
In 2000, McIntosh ran for governor, but lost to incumbent Frank O’Bannon. McIntosh planned another run for governor in 2004, but dropped out before the Indiana Republican primary after President Bush gave his support to current Governor Mitch Daniels.
