The Monroe County Community School Corporation has approved an extended school day for all students in the district.
The new schedule, approved by the school board at last night’s regular meeting, will add nearly an hour of classroom time to the school’s daily schedule.
High school and middle school classes will begin at 7:40 in the morning. Elementary school classes will begin 55-minutes later to allow for bus pick-up.
On Wednesdays, the schedule will revert to this year’s schedule so that teachers can have additional planning time.
The new schedules take effect at the beginning of the new fall semester.
