Columbus Police Chief Bill Martin says officers have worked incredibly hard to build a case since finding the body of a local teenager last week. At a press conference late Monday, Martin said his team worked around the clock following the discovery of 14-year-old Chelsea Porter’s body.
20-year-old Demetrick Shepherd was arrested Sunday evening in connection with the case and charged with murder and burglary. Porter was found dead in an apartment around 3 p.m. Friday morning. The county coroner says the girl died of massive bleeding caused by stab wounds. Martin says police don’t expect any more arrests in the case.
