Hardware stores were prepared in for a rush in advance of today’s snow. Bloomington Hardware CEO Vickie Temple-Davison says many families have been stocking up on emergency supplies, in case they become stuck in their car or home for an extended period of time. Gloves, first aid kits, and hand warmers have been big sellers today, along with the standard shovels, sleds, and ice melt.
“We have had enough snow and ice this year that people are breaking snow shovels. People are running out of ice melter, so it is a constant.”
So far, more than four inches of snow has fallen, with more predicted tonight.
