Indiana lawmakers could disallow the use of EBT cards at adult entertainment venues.
Since 2002, food stamps and welfare benefits have been delivered in Indiana through a special debit card. But legislators want a couple of limits on that easy access to the money.
State law says you cannot use your EBT card to get cash from an ATM at casinos or liquor stores — violators can get up to three months in jail. The Family and Social Services Administration has requested the law be expanded to include adult entertainment establishments as well.
