Rep. Larry Bucshon Defeats Tea Party Candidate In Primary

Rep. Larry Bucshon has once again captured the GOP nomination for Indiana's 8th congressional district.

U.S. Rep. Larry Bucshon, R-Indiana 8th, has defeated his tea party-backed challenger Andrew McNeil for the Republican Party nomination.

Bucshon has received 75 percent of the votes and McNeil has received 25 percent with 99 percent of the precincts counted.

McNeil largely ran his campaign on values issues and fiscal responsibility, arguing Bucshon is not conservative enough.

Bucshon was first elected to office in 2010. He will now face Democratic challenger Tom Spangler in November’s General Election. Spangler ran unopposed in the Democratic primary.
