Bloomington police say a Kentucky man has been arrested after allegedly offering to pay an 18-year-old victim in a pending child molestation case against the man’s brother. 44-year-old Terrence A. Lanham was arrested and charged with assisting a criminal, a Class C Felony. Bloomington Police Captain Joe Qualters says Lanham offered the victim payment if she agreed not to cooperate with police, or to change her testimony. The victim then contacted police.
Lanham was arrested around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when he arrived at a pre-arranged meeting place. Twenty $100 bills were found in his car. Lanham’s brother, 47-year-old John David Lanham, still faces charges of child molesting and sexual misconduct with a minor.
