Parents waits to pick up their children following the shooting of Chance Jackson and the subsequent lockdown of Martinsville West Middle School in March.

Michael Phelps, 16, faces six felony charges, including attempted murder, in the shooting of Chance Jackson, 15, at Martinsville West Middle School March 25. Clay County is supplying the jury pool because Phelps‘ attorney Steven Litz voiced concern about his client’s ability to get a fair trial with a Morgan County jury.
