Secretary of State Charlie White could be forced out of office if convicted on charges of theft and voter fraud.

A Hamilton County judge has denied Secretary of State Charlie White‘s motion for dismissal of the theft and voter fraud charges against him. That clears the way for a pretrial conference January 18th.

White‘s attorney Carl Brizzi argued during a hearing last week that special prosecutors didn‘t provide the grand jury that indicted White with proper descriptions of the law.

However, Special Prosecutor Dan Sigler argued that White intentionally deceived the public when he allegedly moved out of the district he represented.

Sigler said Brizzi‘s arguments weren‘t appropriate for the dismissal hearing but rather his pending trial.

The full trial will begin in early February. Brizzi has also asked Judge Steve Nation for a bench trial.
