IU student Abigail Bott died at McNutt Quad, causes are still unknown.

Indiana University Police Department and the Monroe County Coroner’s Office are investigating the death of Indiana University student, Abigail Bott, who was found dead in her room at McNutt Quad Sunday afternoon.

The IndyStar reports the death is not suspicious, but police are still investigating.

Lt. Don Schmuhl of the university police said officers were called to McNutt Quad at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday on a report of an unresponsive female. They found Abigal Bott, a student from the Chicago area, but could not revive her.

An autopsy was conducted this morning to determine cause and manner of death and the preliminary cause of death is undetermined pending toxicology results.

Monroe County Coroner Nicole Meyer says the final cause of death will be determined after toxicology results are known in four to six weeks.

There is no evidence of trauma and foul play is not suspected.

Drugs, and/or alcohol poisoning. Let’s stop pretending IUPD and IU have no idea how these kids die. Seriously, liquor and keggers are rampant on campus, and IU started the whole MTV Spring Break bs.
Enough with the parents-as-friends phenom, parents as parents prevent freshman deaths. Sad, but not surprising, stop treating 17 and 18 year olds a buddies, parents, and PARENT them.
