The test attempts to identify a gene believed to be associated with schizophrenia.

Researchers at the IU school of Medicine have developed a test that may be able to predict who is at risk for schizophrenia.

A study identified a group of genes most associated with the mental illness. Researchers say the test could eventually provide guidance to caregivers and health care professionals about young people in families with a history of the disease, prompting early intervention and treatment.
