The 6'10", 240-pound freshman from Massachusetts appeared in 30 games and made 29 starts during his season with IU.

Indiana University basketball player Noah Vonleh was selected by the Charlotte Hornets in the first round of the NBA Draft Thursday night.

The Hornets had the ninth draft pick.

Vonleh was a forward for IU and was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year and third team All-Big Ten during his only season for the team before leaving for the NBA Draft.

He averaged 11.3 points per game and nearly nine rebounds per game in his freshman year.

Vonleh is now the third player in the last two years, along with Cody Zeller and Victor Oladipo, to be selected in the draft.
