IU Football Falls To OSU In Season-Opening Home Game

The Indiana Hoosiers fell to Ohio State 49-21 in Thursday night’s game at sold-out Memorial Stadium.

IU started the second half leading 14-13. The Buckeyes answered with four touchdowns shutting out the Hoosiers the last twenty minutes of the game.

Senior quarterback Richard Lagow scored three touchdowns with 410 yards along with a school-record 65 passing attempts. Lagow is now the only quarterback in IU history to surpass 400 yards in two games.

Receiver Simmie Cobbs Jr. recorded a career-high 11 receptions for 149 yards and a touchdown.

Indiana turned the ball over three times resulting in two Buckeye touchdowns in the fourth quarter. The Hoosiers also had trouble running the ball recording only 17 total rushing yards to Ohio State’s 292.

The Hoosiers face the Virginia Cavaliers next Saturday at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
