Corso says even before College GameDay announced the Bloomington show, he was already scheduled to attend the season opener to receive an award from IU.
“When ESPN said they were going to do the game, I was overwhelmed. It’s a great pleasure,” Corso says. “But Indiana deserves it … Thursday night football will be great because of Indiana, Ohio State.”
Corso talked to the media this morning about former IU Head Coach Kevin Wilson, who is now the offensive coordinator for Ohio State.
“Kevin Wilson is an offensive coach for Ohio State now because of what he did in Indiana,” Corso says. “In five games against Ohio State, Kevin Wilson teams averaged 27 points per game. That’s a hell of a record against the Buckeyes.”
Wilson’s replacement, former Indiana defensive coordinator Tom Allen, will work the sidelines for the first time at Memorial Stadium tonight.
Corso coached for Indiana from 1973 to 1982.
