With only about 2 weeks until the first IU football game, the players and coaches took a break from practice for team picture day.

This year the stadium will feature a new 36 foot high by 91 foot wide high definition video screen. On the field, Defensive End Kevin Bush hopes the team can improve on last year’s 4 and 8 record, a season that saw a few games slip away in the fourth quarter.

“Finish. Since the winter that’s been our motto. It’s on the back of our shirts and everything. Running the ball after the play, offense and defense, and playing fast and together as a team,” said Bush.

Tandon Doss is a Sporting News preseason All-Big Ten wide receiver. He led the team in receptions in nine games and receiving yards eight times in 2009. “We have a very talented wide out position, great tailbacks. Ben Chappell is a great leader and he makes plays.”

IU quarterback Ben Chappell is a 5th year senior. He led the league in passing yards per game and looks to continue that trend with the help of his team. “I have all the guys back from last year, running backs, receiver, tight ends all my weapons so that I can spread the ball around, it’s a great feeling,” said Chappell.

And the team is hoping for all the fans back from last year as well. Despite a losing record, IU averaged over 40,000 fans per game, including over 10,000 students for the first time in 17 years. The first home game is September 2nd versus Towson.
