IU Can’t Hold on Against Michigan

It was Tom Crean’s debut as a head coach in the Big Ten, and he had his team ready for conference play. The Hoosiers went on an 18-2 run to build a 23-8 advantage early on in the game. Three-point shooting helped IU keep the lead, 39-22, at the half. Junior Devan Dumes finished with a team-high 17 points, and freshman Nick Williams scored 14 points.

Michigan’s Lucas-Perry and Harris combined for 35 points, both hitting three-pointers in the final minute of regulation, and IU missed six free throws in overtime to help Michigan rally for a 72-66 overtime win.

Indiana will travel to Illinois on Saturday and to Ohio State Tuesday.
