IU Baseball Team Travels To Big Ten Tournament

The Indiana University baseball team is entering the Big Ten Tournament Wednesday with a number-one seed after winning the conference championship.

The Indiana University baseball team will enter the Big Ten Tournament this week with top ranking.

Tracy Smith, IU baseball head coach, was also named Coach of the Year Tuesday. He says he and his team have big goals for post-season play.

“Our guys are looking forward to the Big Ten tournament, but I’d say we’re probably looking more forward to getting that NCAA and see how far we can go,” Smith says.

This year was the first season the team played at the new Bart Kaufman Stadium.

Will Nolden, IU sophomore outfielder, says the stadium gave the team an extra boost of energy.

“Compared to the old stadium, it’s, it kind of gives you chills every time you walk up to the plate,” Nolden says.

The Hoosiers travel to Minneapolis for their first tournament game on Thursday at 7:05 p.m.
