IU baseball coach Tracy Smith not only gets to lead the Hoosiers in their match up against Louisville, but he will get to do it with his son Casey on the field.

Smith says that while the focus is on winning, it is certainly a special occasion, referencing father-son duo Ken Griffey and Ken Griffey, Jr.

“To be sharing Father’s Day weekend with your kid in Omaha, not in the seats as a spectator, you’re actually going out and participating  in it, I don’t know how it can get it any better,” Smith says. “Maybe I could be Griffey and start next to him in the outfield, that’d probably be better better.”

The first pitch is at 7 p.m. Saturday.  The Hoosiers have a 2-1 record against the Cardinals this season.
