An Indianapolis craft beer company is learning from its experience and staying true to its Hoosier roots. Sun King Brewery is growing at a rapid rate and in that process they have bought and installed two new beer tanks from a Bloomington company.
Poynter Sheet Metal supplied the brewery with two 60 barrel tanks to help make various sun king beers. One of Sun King‘s original founders, Omar Robinson, says they want to buy all their equipment locally.
“We buy honey from people locally,” he says, “we buy chocolate from people locally, we buy all types of ingredients. We feel that there is a real movement to support local industry, and we’re in the middle of it, trying to do everything we can.”
He says they feel a responsibility to help the “buy local” cause.
He says at their current rate of expansion, they would need about eight more tanks from Poynter within the next year.
