Water restrictions in Indianapolis will be enforced starting Friday.
Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard issued an Executive Order declaring a Water Shortage Warning in Marion County.
The order was issued at the request of Citizens Water. The City Department of Code Enforcement will enforce the order which bans the use of water for watering lawns, washing cars, and filling swimming pools.
Penalties range from $100 for first time violations to $2,500 for multiple violations. The order takes effect Friday.
