According to IU Bloomington’s website, all classes will resume today at 1 p.m.
Classes were canceled yesterday beginning at 2:30 and officials made the decision to delay the start of classes today until this afternoon.
Even though morning classes are canceled, the campus is remaining open.
According to Assistant Vice President for Communications Larry MacIntyre, the last time the university closed was 2 winters ago, and Monroe County had declared a snow emergency.
“We can’t ask our employees and students to drive on roads that are essentially closed,” MacIntyre says, “that just wouldn’t be safe.”
Meanwhile the winter storm warning remains in effect until 7 o’clock tonight.
