Indiana is reporting its first influenza death of the 2010-2011 flu season. State health commissioner Gregory Larkin confirmed the death yesterday, but said he would not be releasing any other information about the individual. Health officials say the best defense against influenza is to get vaccinated, and everyone over six months should get the flu vaccine each year. In addition, people should wash their hands often and avoid touching their eyes, nose, and mouth.
