As the Indiana House Democrat holdout hits week four, there doesn’t seem to be much movement from either side.

House Speaker Brian Bosma said he continues to speak with Minority Leader Pat Bauer, but there has been no real progress.

“We’re not going to remove items from the calendar. There’s continued requests for that, it’s just not going to happen. We need for them to get back here and do their job and we’re willing to discuss issues here on the floor of the House,” said Bosma.

Austin Representative Terry Goodin said the failure of the Democrats to return rests with Bosma.

“The Speaker of the House has to step up, they have to be a leader and they have to bring the sides together and they have to move forward. And unfortunately, that’s not taken place yet,” said Goodin.

But Bauer said progress is being made, calling the two sides closer to an agreement on a bill regarding school vouchers. Still, Bauer said there is more work to be done, and the Democrats definitely won’t return Tuesday.
