With fuel prices dropping, it promises to be a summer of travel in Indiana.

Gas prices are dropping in Indiana. AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report stated that the average price for regular unleaded gas in the state is now $4.79, down 33 cents per gallon from $4.12 one month ago.

Hoosier Motor Club spokesman Greg Seiter said Indiana gas prices were high last month in part because of pipeline disruptions and refinery problems up north and into Canada. Now that those issues are resolved, prices are trending downward.

Seiter said that although many Hoosiers are unhappy about gas prices, people have traveled as much as ever, and will probably continue to do so, throughout the rest of the summer. “This is going to be a strong summer for travel once again. Really, with the gas prices dropping off a little bit, that’s going to help motorists, especially those who plan to travel by automobile.”
