Indiana Football’s 34 to 17 win at Virginia came at the hands of redshirt freshman quarterback Peyton Ramsey who accounted for more than two-thirds of Indiana’s 318 total yards. Ramsey entered the game early in the second quarter after IU’s offense couldn’t find the endzone and turned the ball over.
Head Coach Tom Allen says fifth-year senior starter Richard Lagow remains IU’s starting quarterback.
“You got to have two quarterbacks, three quarterbacks to play a season long,” Allen says. “I’m excited we have two that have proven they can make plays at a high level. We want those guys to compete. We’ll make those decisions as they come. The bottom line is they’re both going to play.”
The Hoosiers face Florida International this week. Hurricane Irma relocated FIU’s home game to Birmingham, Alabama over the weekend. The FIU Panthers defeated Alcorn State 17-10.
Allen says the Panthers still plan to travel to Bloomington Saturday. Kick-off is set for 3:30 p.m.
